Augusta Road Business Association (ARBA) congratulates Ponthieux’s Jewelry Design Studio as the winner of the First Annual Lights on Augusta, a Christmas decoration contest on historic Augusta Road.  Members of ARBA decorated their business or store front for the month of December and the winner was decided by the community, clients, customers, neighbors and residents.  “We are excited to win the first ever Lights on Augusta.  We worked really hard this year decorating our shop for Christmas and were amazed to see that 76 of our website page views for December came from www.onlyonaugusta.com.   We would like to say “thank you” to everyone that voted for us” said owners Wanda and Michael Ponthieux.  Ponthieux’s Jewelry now has bragging rights for this first annual contest and will be placed in the 2012 Lights on Augusta marketing campaign.  Second place winner is Music Together of Greenville with Foxfire Gallery & Kitchen Shops coming in at third place.

Over 580 people voted online, at www.onlyonaugusta.com, for the best decked business on Augusta Road.  The community showed enormous support and ARBA is pleased with the success of the first Lights on Augusta.  “We believe Lights on Augusta’s inaugural year was a huge success not only in the number of businesses that participated but also with the voter turnout.  With close to six hundred votes, the community took a real interest in this event and it will sure become an annual event looked forward to by all.  Lights on Augusta also showed us just how strong of a sense of community we have, and the camaraderie shared by residents, consumers, and business owners alike” said Kelly Odom, President of ARBA.

July 30th, 2009Welcome to Augusta Road!

Less than a mile from Greenville’s downtown, you’ll find thousands of historic homes, as well as newly-renovated neighborhoods, that for decades have been regarded as one of the Upstate’s most coveted areas to live, work and play.

What makes the area even more desirable is that the neighborhoods are nestled around some of the Upstate’s most desirable shopping, restaurants and local businesses, shops and boutiques. The Augusta Road Shopping District boasts clothing stores, flower shops, spas, and decorating resource centers found near old fashioned hardware stores and a wide range of restaurants. Augusta Road is also the location of Greenville’s first, and still very active, shopping mall, Lewis Plaza.

If you’re new to the area and looking for a home, ask your realtor to bring you through the Augusta Road area and see for yourself. If you’re a resident of the Upstate or just passing through, spend the day on Augusta Road, and see why we believe…you’ll find it Only On Augusta.
